Its beginning to not look like christmas.
Hello everyone. It is hot. I do not like the heat, but that is ok, because I do not complain. I LOVE RAIN!!! The weather is wacky. It hasn't rained in a week, when it was raining literally every night before. But we're hoping and praying always.
This week we found 9 new people!! which is awesome because the mission goal is 7 at least, every week. But we didn't have a ton of lessons. Yesterday, for some reason, the entire city was borracho (drunk), and we did not get in to a single house. so that was bummer but its ok. new day!!!
I finished Jesus the Christ this week. All 800 pages. It is fantastic. I literally learned so much, and I literally cannot be shaken in the slightest when it comes to my testimony that Jesus was and is the literally godly son of a God, and earthly mortal. that he was perfect. That he possessed the power to absolutely DO anything our minds can comprehend, and he used it very minimally, only to help others, and in his moment of death, he did not use it at all. He let himself die.
---------Jesus is my older brother, and I will stand by him, for him, and in him for the rest of my life on earth, so that I may stand in front of him one day and feel his love and acceptance of what I did.----------------
STORIES
These two brothers named Jon and Milton (with spanish accents the names sound more authentic). We went to a house we hadn't been to before, and the guy opens the door and we explain we're missionaries, he says sure. Can we share a message with you? claro (sure) can we ...come in..? claro. so we went in and we are teaching him. It was a strange door approach to which he answered everything in the affirmative.
Then we go back another day, his brother is there.. same story. He said claro to everything and let us in. We're teaching the both of them. Weird. but awesome
I love This gospel and this work, and I love you all. READ YOUR SCRIPTURES. Don't forget. theres no room for... I forgot... at the judgment.
Elder Hartvigsen
Chase... we did not have thanksgiving. I forgot until wednesday when Elder Durfey reminded me about it. Weird I know.
Also, I have eaten many weird things. So far, there's only one or two things that I, without reserve, can tell you that I hate. Calabaza. Its like pudding or jello or the both made from the innerds of a pumpkin. Not delicious. And everyone thinks I must love it or something because I keep eating it. Other than that though, most of the food is really good. Tons of rice. Lots and lots of chicken. Papa a la JuancaƬna is actually way delicious and my favorite!
