April 1, 2013 Emergency Transfers and a new Companion

first of all to chase.
My mission president shared with us this week that he and his wife had been thinking about how much joy the savior and the father had to have felt when christ returned to the heavens triumphant and succesful in his mission. Think of the billions of tiny little factors that had to go right for the chance to atone to even have happened. God planed everything out, when nothing had even happened yet. And how else could god have known so well to be able to plan like that and see the future?? I believe that there was a time when God wasnt so perfect... when he was more like us. According to the laws of the universe that say that God himself is bound by certain laws, How else can he claim to us (imperfect beings) that perfection is possible for us, if he wasnt imperfect at one time, and learned to be perfect. .....Learning comes through failure....... (see thomas edison, the book of mormon, orany successful anyone in life)
Dont be bummed!! rejoice in lessons learned and experience gained. You have devine potencial.

Ok, emergency transfer.
Elder Pérez is out of here. He was whisked off to San Juan to be the comp of a comp who was comp to my friend Elder Pino (chileno) who has to return home due to undiagnosed illness, and hopefully come back in a month or two. and then the same day, only by coincidence (thats a lie), an Elder Camez who had been waiting for his visa arrived by plane from Guatemala.
President called us Thursday night (which is always very frightening at the start) and let us know that he had been praying and praying and felt that we were to have a change. he told me, Elder Hartvigsen, Elder Camez is a special Elder, and needs more time in training that the normal time, and he needs a good companion, and the Lord wants you to do it.
If the Lord believes me to be capable and worthy to take care of one of his special warriors, I hold it as a most high honor, and I feel very humbled and loved by the Lord.  We will learn together.

the second thing
We have an investigador named Luis, a 17 year old kid, who is going to be baptized the 13 of april. I am ecstatic and very happy because it has been 4 months (dont remind me). he is ready. He told an inactive member in a lesson he accompanied us in (sometimes he asks if he can come with us in the other lessons) he told her that ´my mom and dad don't want me to be baptized, but I do. I know a lot of churches, and have been to a lot, but when these guys taught me the first time, I felt something.´ Awesome right!! Thanks to the Lord of everything, Luis has found the true gospel, and has begun to change his life for the better. I know the church is true and thank you all for being awesome.

Watch the video on the church site about easter if you havent already. I loved it!! Let us always remember why we are here, and how we can get back.
