November 19, 2012 Loco weather and autographs

Ok.

First off, the weather is loco here and very awesome as well. It is super crazy hot and muggy in the mornings, super hot and not as muggy in the afternoons, and then chilly, windy, and really beautiful at night. I love the nights. Picture 70. Its awesome. also it rains a few times a week.

Facts I think I forgot to mention last week: we have about 190 missionaries in our mission. ( I think its about the geographical size of Utah. not really sure you can check if you want.) I think like 18 zones or something. (our zone has 18 missionaries just to give you an idea) and the Presidente told us in zone conference, that in the next 6 to 9 months, we are getting 250 more missionaries. yeah really. so we`re not really sure whats going to happen. Probably new areas will be opened. for sure I will be training my butt off. curriculum might change so that we have enough elders to train, I dont know. but its gonna be awesome to see the growth of the church. no idea how it will be, but thats just an idea for you what that announcement in conference will do to us.

Story.
yesterday we had this crazy hot morning (picture suit tie and heavy backpack, walking a few miles to find the members that we were to eat lunch, then eating super hot steamy fried fish and rice, and then dying of thirst to be given hot lemonade.  love the members) and then super cold night, and all of a sudden.... hail!!! and tons and tons of rain at the same time. crazy. we were trying to teach a lesson in a little house with a tin roof, and we couldnt do it. too loud. we seriously could not hear ourselves yelling over the sound. crazy haha. then we leave the house to go get my comps chumpa (sweater) and there is tons and tons of water flowing down the roads with cars trying to drive through it all, and buses rushing through, sending water everywhere. It was super awesome. Dad would have loved it. and I think we have another few weeks of it.

Story 2.
So saturday at a baptism for the other companionship of elders in the ward, the bishop looks at me while we we are in the hall for something, and says, ´Elder Hartvigsen (more like elder hhharbiso) escùche! motioning to his office computer. It was playing my music from my facebook page. I kinda had a little strange what is going on freak out moment and he burst out laughing.  I shouldnt have told Jessica, a girl in the ward, about my music. she has told a lot of the ward, and people are actually asking me for an autograph (and its super duper awkward as a missionary to be asked that... not sure what I should do. hopefully it will pass). also I get to play piano a ton for meetings and such, so that is a very awesome blessing for which I am very grateful.

crazyness
I have seen way too much breast feeding this week. Even in sacrament meeting. yes it happened.

Alright, about the atonement.
Its wonderful.
Also, read Mosiah 27 about alma the younger and the rebellious sons of Mosiah. see what happens. for a look into their hearts AFTER they have been changed, see Mosiah 28.3 The power of the atonement is unbelievably all encompassing. and any problem you could possibly have can be solved and erased by the power of his sacrifice. I testify, and plead to all of you reading this to study, just a little bit, what he did. 1 Nephi 19 is a good chapter. Mosiah 11 to 17 are the teachings of Abinadì and he has a very strong testimony of the atonement. also, an awesome quote

Moroni 8.16
Mormon to his son
´... fear not what man can do, for perfect love casteth out all fear.´
yeah chew on that for a bit. (I hope I got all the references right, I'm doing this from memory)

I love the lord with all my heart might mind and strength, and I love all of you too. I pray for you all to receive his love in your lives, and I thank you for your prayers on my behalf as well.

amen.

Elder Hartvigsen
